Myofascial trigger points are chronically contracted areas in a muscle that are related to the production and maintenance of the pain cycle. Trigger point dry needling is a technique in which a small needle is inserted into the skin and muscle directly at a myofascial trigger point to release it and reduce pain. This technique is highly effective and can be used to treat a variety of musculoskeletal problems. Dr. Rosenstein is a certified myofascial trigger point therapist (CMTPT). She is also trained in advanced dry needling techniques such as subcutaneous dry needling to address fascial restrictions.
